# Use Case: PM-WANI Framework

## The role of GVDT within PM-WANI

Gavedu deploys PM-WANI-compliant public Wi-Fi hotspots across India and settles their economics with the **GVDT** utility token on Base. The goal is simple: make broadband internet access through public Wi-Fi effectively free for users, while giving the people who host the hardware a real, verifiable stake in the network.

## Ad-sponsored internet

Gavedu hotspots replace the traditional recharge-based model with an **ad-sponsored internet** mechanism. End users get internet for free by engaging with sponsored ads, and the PDOs who host the hardware earn a share of that ad economy. This democratizes access while giving hosts a sustainable way to monetize their infrastructure.

## What GVDT does

* **Represents the PDO's stake in the hardware.** Buying a hotspot grants a matching value of GVDT that vests over 24 months, conditioned on real uptime.
* **Powers the free-access loop.** Consumers earn off-chain reward points by engaging with ads and spend them for minutes of broadband access; the points are burned on use and never touch the on-chain supply.
* **Funds expansion.** Investor staking on Base directly finances the deployment of new physical nodes.

## Collaboration with PDOs

Gavedu works with PDOs to deliver free or affordable connectivity, aligned with the goals of India's National Digital Communications Policy, 2018 (NDCP). PDOs operate Gavedu PM-WANI access points backed by Gavedu's cloud network infrastructure, delivering seamless broadband to subscribers without heavy upfront cost — bridging the digital divide and empowering local communities.
