# Use Case: PM-WANI Framework

## The role of GVDT within PM-WANI

Gavedu builds PM-WANI-compliant public Wi-Fi hotspots and is designed to settle their economics with the **GVDT** utility token on Base. The goal is simple: make broadband internet access through public Wi-Fi effectively free for users, while giving the people who host the hardware a verifiable stake in the network.

> **Status.** As of 21 August 2026 no nodes are online, no ad revenue has been collected, and the PDO and investor programmes below are unbuilt. See [Implementation Status](/gavedu-by-bhumitat/implementation-status.md).

## Ad-sponsored internet

Gavedu hotspots replace the traditional recharge-based model with an **ad-sponsored internet** mechanism. End users get internet access by engaging with sponsored ads, and the design calls for the PDOs who host the hardware to share in that ad economy. **No ad revenue has been collected to date and no PDO share has ever been paid.**

## What GVDT is designed to do

* **Represent the PDO's stake in the hardware.** *(Not built.)* Under the design, buying a hotspot would grant a matching value of GVDT released over 24 months and conditioned on measured uptime. No vesting vault has been deployed. **No cost recovery or return of capital is promised.**
* **Power the free-access loop.** *(Running.)* Consumers receive off-chain reward points by engaging with ads and spend them for minutes of broadband access; the points are burned on use and never touch the on-chain supply.
* **Fund expansion.** *(Not built, not open.)* The design contemplates investor staking on Base financing new physical node deployments. No staking contract exists and no stake has ever been accepted.

## Collaboration with PDOs

Gavedu works with PDOs to deliver free or affordable connectivity, aligned with the goals of India's National Digital Communications Policy, 2018 (NDCP). PDOs operate Gavedu PM-WANI access points backed by Gavedu's cloud network infrastructure, delivering seamless broadband to subscribers without heavy upfront cost — bridging the digital divide and empowering local communities.
